Recently I have been really taken aback by the patchwork trend in handbags. I am sure I am not alone in saying that when I see or hear of patchwork I am instantly taken back to my childhood.

My grandmother used to always make her own quilts using the patchwork technique. She would always have the most gorgeous materials such as silks and lovely bright colored cottons, I could watch her forever stitching all the square pieces together. The thrill and excitement that I got when her masterpiece was finished is just as exciting now.

Thus, when I seen a patchwork purse by Coach I just had to buy it, not only for the pleasant child hood memories that came flooding back but because of the craftsmanship, colors and overall girly tone the bag had.

I just love the cuteness of this purse which is emphasized by the multicolored fabric pieces such as lilacs, soft pinks, silver and brown. Framing the bag so to speak are the dark brown leather seams and two soft leather handles attached to the purse with sassy gold rings.

Yes its is true this bag looks great but it is also very practical. The ample sized handle is big enough to wear hooped through your arm so you can carry on your shoulder, or you can simply carry by hand.

Inside there is a large main compartment which is split into two with a sturdy zip. Also there is a handy small inside pocket which is great for your cellphone or makeup items.

It is not only Coach that are gracing us with patchwork purses but also the likes of Chanels denim version which is just as beautiful.
