This time of year many of us will find that as the weather is brightening up our diary’s are getting fuller with events such as weddings, christenings and even special days at horse racing days. These types of events require us ladies to glam up and many of my girlfriends have been asking me for style tips specifically for an accessory they can wear to multiple occasions to glamorize their outfits.

With this in mind I have recommended buying a black straw hat. Hats are the perfect accessories to buy when looking to give that low cost summer frock or little black dress an instant high fashion look.

Black straw hats are ideal for occasions such as weddings as they are more formal in their appearance than natural colors such as tans. There are many available such as those with wide brims, my favorites are those that naturally tilt to one side as they create a sassy yet classy look.

These hats are great if you have an occasion where you will be outdoors such as a horse racing event such as Ladies Day, the straw material is light-weight so it won’t ruin your hair do, nor will it make you sweat around the hair line which tougher fabrics such as felts usually do.

If you want a hat that really makes you stand out, look for those that have flower details or bands above the hats brim, often you can buy a black hat that has colorful detailing which really livens your look up.

As for what color outfit you should wear, black literally goes with anything, so you can wear the same hat to different events but just change your outfit. Great outfit colors that really make black hats look great are hot pinks, whits and reds.
