This summer is all about hats, and with the trend being widespread all over the world we are seeing more than one style appearing in high street stores and online.

The worlds favorite summer beach hat has got to be the cowboy hat. This hat is so versatile and can be worn by men, women and children. Whereas they were typically only made from hard wearing materials such as felt, it is now very common to find cowboy hats made from straw.

Straw is a very hard-wearing material also, however it is also more light weight and comfortable to wear than traditional materials. If you are thinking f buying a straw cowboy hat, then one great tip is to look for one that is crush-able, this way it won’t get ruined or flattened in your suitcase.

Another summer hat that is a hat this year is the large brimmed floppy hat. This is only worn by women and it is one of my personal favorites this year. Again this hat is available in a wide range of colors and materials but they all share they same overall look, and that is an oversized brim that flops to the side slightly.

I find that this hat is great for re-creating that ever so popular 1940’s beach look, especially if you team with a halter neck bikini or all in one swim suit.

Finally straw fedoras are a massive hit also, and great for the beach. They are being worn by celebrities, men and women and are very versatile in terms of when they can be worn. For instance they look great on the beach during the day and even better at night when out for dinner or dancing.
