Straw beachwear is not only meant to keep you cool, but it is also meant to protect you from the damaging UVA and UVB rays emitted by the sun. These rays are not only responsible for drying out your skin causing wrinkles, but too much exposure can also lead to skin cancer.

Before heading to your local beach, you will want to have a few items on hand. While sunscreen is always important, you should invest in a straw mat. This lightweight mat forms an insulated, waterproof barrier between the hot or wet sand and your body. Straw mats come in many sizes, often up to six by eight feet making it large enough for a whole family to relax on. Most straw mats are priced at well under $50. Their low price makes them an item you must have. When you are done spending time at the ocean, sea or lake, you simply shake the mat off, roll it up and tie the ends. The lightweight nature makes it easy to carry and definitely convenient for picnics, beach time and even lounging in your own yard.

Straw hats are also important. They help shield your face from the sun helping to keep you cool and protected from the damaging rays. Straw hats come in many shapes, sizes and colors. Therefore, you will always find a look that suits your tastes. Because straw is so durable, the hat you own will last you for years.

Finally, keep your feet cool and protected from broken glass, seashells and other obstacles people find at the beach. Straw flip-flops are lightweight and tough. You can wear them in the water for protection from many potentially dangerous items and when you are done, they dry out quickly. Because straw is a natural material, if you lose a flip-flop in the surf, you are not endangering the environment. While you may be inconvenienced, at least you are not causing harm to the fish and wildlife found in the water.

I wanted to say that I bought many hats for the sea but finally I realized that straw hats are the best for that purpose because it seems that I can still feel the breeze on my hair, it’s like to go with and to feel without.
